Baker Lab Awarded Borchard Foundation Grant

We are delighted to announce that our lab has recently been awarded a pilot grant to investigate immune responses in patients with glioblastoma (GBM) brain cancer at Oregon Health & Science University!

This work is supported by generous funds from the Albert & Elaine Borchard Foundation and we are deeply grateful to the patients who generously contribute samples to brain cancer research. Without their participation, work like this would not be possible.

GBM remains one of the most aggressive and lethal forms of brain cancer, characterized by poor prognosis and extremely limited treatment options. A major challenge in treating the disease is its ability to evade the immune system, allowing tumors to grow and resist therapy. Through this pilot project, we aim to better understand how malignant brain tumors shape and disrupt immune responses, with the ultimate goal of identifying new strategies to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. This work represents an important step toward advancing more effective immunotherapies for GBM patients.
